My experience as an association executive convinced me long ago of the importance of professional certification. It’s exciting to be part of a field that is crucial to patient care, constantly evolving, and faces challenges and opportunities ahead.”

The American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) sets the professional certification standards for excellence in a growing field of high-tech health care pioneers. It recognizes well-trained professionals who can use technology to maximize efficiency and increase clinical staff satisfaction and productivity, while realizing strategic goals and improving patient care. Headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, ABII evaluates, certifies, and annually registers more than 1,000 imaging informatics professionals across the world.

ABII is governed by a board of seven, including three imaging informatics professionals nominated by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the national certification organization for all areas of the radiologic sciences, and three imaging informatics professionals nominated by the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine, the professional association for imaging informatic professionals. The final Trustee position is filled by a public member.
