Janet McEwen, M.A., CAE, has been appointed to a three-year term as the public member Trustee on The American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII)'s Board of Trustees.

Janet McEwen worked as an association executive for over 30 years and recently retired from American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), where she served as the Director of Corporate Relations for 12 years. Janet currently works as a trainer and online producer for Dale Carnegie Training. She holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Central Michigan University and a master’s degree in communication studies from the University of North Texas.

She says that she’s looking forward to serving ABII as a trustee. “I am honored to serve as the public member on the ABII Board. My experience as an association executive convinced me long ago of the importance of professional certification. It’s exciting to be part of a field that is crucial to patient care, constantly evolving, and faces challenges and opportunities ahead.”

ABII is governed by a board of seven, including three imaging informatics professionals nominated by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the national certification organization for all areas of the radiologic sciences, and three imaging informatics professionals nominated by the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine, the professional association for imaging informatic professionals. The final Trustee position is filled by a public member.
