Tonya Edge, R.T.(R)(ARRT), CIIP has been appointed to a three-year term on The American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII)'s Board of Trustees.

Tonya Edge serves as Radiology Business Systems Analyst/picture archiving and communications system (PACS) Administrator for the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She has worked in the radiology field for over 30 years. During that time, she has served as a Radiologic Technologist (R.T.) and a PACS Administrator.

She says that she’s looking forward to serving ABII as a Trustee. “I am honored to be a member of the Radiology/Imaging Informatics sphere. Throughout my career, I’ve witnessed substantial transformation within the radiology profession—the most exciting being in Imaging Informatics. To be a member of this evolving, innovative world is a dream come true, and I vow to dedicate my career to the foundation and advancement of Imaging Informatics.”

ABII is governed by a board of seven, including three imaging informatics professionals nominated by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the national certification organization for all areas of the radiologic sciences, and three imaging informatics professionals nominated by the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine, the professional association for imaging informatic professionals. The final Trustee position is filled by a public member.
