The first step of your journey toward excellence and becoming a Certified Imaging Informatics Professional starts with determining that
you’re qualified to take the exam. The qualification system is flexible enough to address the various backgrounds of imaging informatics
professionals, yet comprehensive enough to ensure that candidates are well rounded.
Seven-Point Qualification System
An applicant’s eligibility for examination is based on a seven-point system that encompasses the categories of experience, formal
education and credentials/continuing education. To calculate if you have the seven points and minimum criteria necessary to apply for
certification, carefully review the chart below.
As of November 1, 2016 ABII's qualification system includes options to make eligibility more flexible. The changes
add clarification and additional eligibility options through CE. The changes will maintain the goal of being flexible enough to address
the various backgrounds of imaging informatics professionals, yet comprehensive enough to ensure that candidates are well rounded.
